IJD are currently offering a plan pack to construct the electric wing. Construction is from conventional balsa, carbon fibre and light ply to keep weight down to a minimum. A video to show the performance of the electric conversion is provided HERE. The conversion was carried out by Trim Aircraft and features their own electric Ramtec fan unit.
Electric
IJD are currently converting their Trim Spectre into electric power. The setup used will be the Stumax SM110-45 and 12s LiPo battery, however IJD have been advised that the Ramtec Electric Fan is also a perfect match for this project.
For many years the Trim Aircraft Spectre has been a top performer in ducted fan jets. With the introduction of turbines, many modellers have converted the existing airframe to suit. However the electric flyers haven't been as fortunate due battery weight. IJD have developed in conjunction with Trim Aircraft a retrofit wing for the Spectre which has a larger wing area suitable for EDF installations. The wing was designed using CAD software to ensure accuracy of assembly.
